and also GPIO outputting 24V to power the sensor and it should be capable of driving 2Aloads
- the transistor used can only handle 200mA.
- the output is off when GPIO is active (high) so when RPi is not powered and the 24V supply is active then the output is powered.

Back to the drawing board !

Look for a design which uses a mosfet, the optocoupler could control the gate voltage. Mosfet have a limited gate-source voltage of (see datasheet) 12 to 20V. So limit this by using a voltage divider and/or when 24V is not stable by an additional zener.
Good you have a flywheel diode in your design.
