When the ssh command is issued, the local userid is assumed if the command does not have a userid specified- ie "ssh 192.168.1.7" vs "ssh tom@192.168.1.7".I am trying to do an eye tracking mouse project on the raspberrypi 4 board. Every time I try to ssh into it I get the permission denied error when I put the password in.I am 100 percent sure that it is not a spelling error.
On the local network are there more computers than the Pi you are attempting to connect?
Are your absolutely positive the remote IP address in the ssh command is correct?
Connect a keyboard and monitor to the remote Pi to validate the IP address and review the logs for clues.
