Thank you for your answer.You will definitely need a suitable RS-485 interface between your solar interface and the Pi. Probably any of the ones you list are suitable.
RS-485 signals may generate 5 volts (or more); this is sufficient to cause the Pi's I/O pins to fail, although most of the device may keep working.
So if you connected these signals to the Pi, you may now have partially faulty hardware (or maybe you will have been lucky).
You'll probably need to use the RS-485 part of the serial I/O driver, which is descriebed at: https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/ ... rs485.html
Search this forum for "RS-485" (and maybe "RS485; not sure how clever the search is); this has been covered here in multiple threads.
Even though I made a mistake, it is a great luck for me that the raspberry is still working.
