Hello all,
I have an RPI5 8GB with NVME drive. I purchased the Standard 12MP camera. I want to basically point it out my front window to record anytime a person comes up to the door to drop off a package or knock ect...
In the documentation https://datasheets.raspberrypi.com/came ... manual.pdf it points to an example by RPi
https://github.com/raspberrypi/picamera ... _motion.py
I tested this and it seems to work ok. But my problem is it does not seem to work far away. By far I mean maybe 20 feet. I tried to capture myself from my office area to the back door and it did not recognise me and it did not record.
What is the distance limit for such a script and / or the camera to detect motion properly and accurately to record it?
Also will the camera's motion detection script above work through a window? I want to place it by the window and shoot towards the door. However my computer is currently too far away to test this.
Thank you in advance.
