Hi
for telescope control there is a nice tool called "astroberry" - unfortunately (yet) only for 32bit OS. The good news is that the main software (KStars) is also available for 64bit (bookworm). This is already running on my Pi5. But now I'm looking for optimum solution for remote operation and data transfer. I found many interesting hints in this forum and have a preliminary solution on xrdp. However I think, that there might be better or easier solutions and that experienced forum-members can point me in the right direction.
Here is what I want to do - 2 ways of remote controll:
direct connection via hotspot
for setting up the telescope, I want to have a hotspot on the Pi5, where I can connect directly from a windwos-laptop (this is what I currently have), maybe in future also a tablet. In this case, the windows laptopt is always nearby the Pi5 and should also work without any other Wifi-network or LAN-connection (e.g. while observation under clear sky far away from my house).
remote operation
this would be nearby my house, where I can establish a Wifi-connection between home-network and Pi5. In this case Pi5 should be operated headless with auto-login to network. Here I can use a windows-system, but also a linux-system for remote controll. In both cases, I also need a solution for data transfer.
Now I'm looking forward for different proposals... or is there "one perfect solution"?
