A proper way to do that - is though collaboration with the Canonical's kernel team. I.e. report a bug, describing what exactly is bothering you, and ideally proposing some solution. In this case - it was pretty straightforward thing to do, and all that was needed is a bit of patience.

I believe, soon the updated kernel 6.5.0-1012.15 will land into regular update repositories, and all you'll have to do - is to run an apt upgrade. No need to tinker with kernels from a different distro, that's usually can't be considered "100% safe"
