Shame on me for not scrolling down far enough to see the other targets. Back in the old days, there was just one uf2 and I got stupid and grabbed the first one.
Thanks for your help. That did the trick.
P.S. The Getting Started Guide says:
Use debugprobe_on_pico.uf2 to use a Pico for debugging. Use debugprobe.uf2 for the Debug Probe accessory hardware.
There should be a note about what file to use for a Pico 2.
P.P.S. In my weak defense of why I blew it, the Getting Started Guide first says to use something named debugprobe in two places in the Debug with a second Pico or Pico 2. I just did not read far enough:
Debug with a second Pico or Pico 2
One Pico or Pico 2 can reprogram and debug another using the debugprobe firmware, which transforms the Pico or Pico 2
into a USB → SWD and UART bridge
...
Install debugprobe
You can download a UF2 binary of debugprobe from the Pico-series documentation
