Though the problem is with NVMe do your 16GB and 8GB models have different performance for GeekBench 5 and 6?Really appreciate your insights on this. I run Latest by default:I view mem=8G not speeding things up as a good thing, since one is looking for a solution allowing use of all 16GB of RAM.

I wonder if changing the EEPROM from default to the latest would make a difference.Code:
ypw/ssdy/work$ sudo rpi-eeprom-update BOOTLOADER: up to date CURRENT: Wed Jan 8 05:52:48 PM UTC 2025 (1736358768) LATEST: Wed Jan 8 05:52:48 PM UTC 2025 (1736358768) RELEASE: stable (/lib/firmware/raspberrypi/bootloader-2712/stable) Use raspi-config to change the release.
Also, there may be a typo in date of the EEPROM version reported in that thread. If so, then Jan 13 is more recent than Jan 8.
