that's pretty standard on other distro's as raspberry os is the only supported os.
rpi5 does not have hardware accelerated video. it's all done in software.
ubuntu uses there own raspberry kernel for rpi's.
other than logs, you shouldn't have any major issues running it.
i tried it not to long ago and it ran fine, for desktop use it serves the purpose.
